THE PADDOCK ECO VILLAGE CASTLEMAINE
Our vision is to create a new standard for sustainable living that fosters a sense of community and closer connection to nature.
The Paddock eco village is a beautiful place to live for people who enjoy a green lifestyle.
It was completed in June 2024 and comprises 26 homes and a Community Centre on 1.4Ha of land. Up to 60% of the total space will be dedicated to shared food gardens, planted wetlands, chooks, native gardens and orchards.

There is so much to enjoy about living in The Paddock, from looking out my bedroom window in the morning to see ducks dabbling in the dam, to the winter sun streaming in my living room windows so I don't need to turn the heater on, to the simple but quality design of my house, to greeting other community members as I tend my vegetable garden, to the availability of fresh produce from local businesses or farmers markets, to becoming acquainted with the wider Castlemaine community, to walking quiet bush tracks not far from town. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found such a healthy and sustainable environment to inhabit!

Location
A peaceful bushland setting close to the heart of Castlemaine.
The Paddock is located at 19 Reckleben St, just 1.4 kilometres from the centre of Castlemaine which is widely recognised as one of Australia¹s most interesting towns.
In recent years, artists, nature lovers and environmental activists of all ages have flocked here from Melbourne and elsewhere.
It is ideally situated in Central Victoria, with fast road, rail and bus connections to Melbourne and Bendigo.
